1. Warren Easton (33-1)

THE BUZZ: Eagles won Class 4A championship, becoming the first public Orleans Parish school to win one.

2. Salmen (27-5)

THE BUZZ: Kalani Brown era ends with Spartans reaching 4A title game for fourth consecutive year.

3. Edna Karr (29-4)

THE BUZZ: Cougars’ four losses this season were to the two teams ranked above them (two to Salmen, two to Easton).

4. Destrehan (26-3)

THE BUZZ: Sophomore Cara Ursin proved to be one of state’s most dynamic players, leading Cats to 5A semis.

5. Cabrini (27-6)

THE BUZZ: Rakell Spencer and Co. reached the Class 4A semfinals before falling to eventual champ Easton.

6. Mount Carmel (22-9)

THE BUZZ: One year after winning the Class 5A state championship, Mount Carmel reached 5A quarterfinals.

7. Covington (22-6)

THE BUZZ: Lost in second round of 5A playoffs and were last team to beat eventual 5A champ Ponchatoula.

8. Helen Cox (25-6)

THE BUZZ: Danayea Charles and Cougars made 5A semis last year but were eliminated in first round this season.

9. Mandeville (19-10)

THE BUZZ: Skippers lost in opening round of the Class 5A playoffs to Broadmoor.

10. West St. John (26-6)

THE BUZZ: Rams won the District 8-1A championship and reached Class 1A quarterfinals.
