Ally McCulley, Mandeville

McCulley finished first in the Christian Brothers Cross Country Meet on Sept. 17 at Money Hill Golf and Country Club near Abita Springs. McCulley finished the 3-mile course in 19 minutes, 46 seconds and helped lead the Skippers to a victory over St. Joseph's Academy, which is expected to be their chief competition for the Class 5A state championship in November.

Adam Wise, Fontainebleau

Wise, a junior, won the Christian Brothers Cross Country Meet at Money Hill on Sept. 17, but he didn't have a finishing time because he and two others runners were led off course by a pace vehicle. Race officials awarded Wise the first-place finish, as he was well ahead of the field by the time the race entered the third and final mile. Wise also won the Christian Brothers Meet last year on a different course.
