LAKE CHARLES — It was a slam dunk for Madison Prep. The Chargers used dunks by three players in the final minute to close out a 41-33 victory over Riverside Academy in the Class 2A title game at the Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Boys Top 28 tournament on Saturday afternoon.
The dunks by Marquis Browder, William Loyd and Josh Anderson broke open a close game. It is the second straight title for top-seeded MPA (34-4), the Class 1A champion a year ago. Second-seeded Riverside finishes 27-6.
Title-game MVP Josh LeBlanc had nine points and 14 rebounds for Madison Prep, while Anderson scored a team-high 11 points. Herb McGee led Riverside with 14 points and Malik Crowfield added 13 in the game played at Burton Coliseum.
