The buzz: Jesuit is ranked No. 3 in The New Orleans Advocate Large School Super 10 and No. 6 in Class 5A. Blue Jays QB Trey LaForge has completed 86 of 131 passes for 1,239 yards and 17 TDs. His main targets are Kalija Lipscomb (515 yards, 8 TDs) and Foster Moreau (271 yards, 6 TDs). Shaw counters with junior RB Trey Ragas, who has 982 yards and 16 TDS. QB Matt Keller has thrown for 783 yards and nine TDs.

St. Augustine (3-2) vs. Rummel (6-0)

The buzz: Rummel is ranked No. 1 in The New Orleans Advocate Large School Super 10, No. 1 in Class 5A and No. 11 nationally by USA Today. St. Aug is ranked No. 8 in the Super 10. Purple Knights are led by big-play WR Stanley Morgan, who has caught 35 passes for 667 yards and 7 TDs. Justice McCoy has thrown for 1,336 yards and 10 TDs. Rummel is led by QB Chase Fourcade and RBs Maurice Bailey, Brandon Phillips and Devin Hutton. Tyrell Jacobs and Briston Guidry anchor a strong defensive front.

District 8-4A

Pearl River (0-6) at East Jefferson (3-3)

The buzz: Warriors are looking to move to 2-0 in district play, while Pearl River is trying to get its first win. The Rebels had to forfeit their lone win, a 9-7 victory over Pope John Paul II, for using an ineligible player. DeShawn Raymond leads the Warriors secondary.

District 9-4A

Karr (2-3) vs. King (2-4)

Time, place: Noon, Yenni

Last week: Karr lost to Landry-Walker 27-7; King lost to Thomas Jefferson 33-23

The buzz: Cougars are looking to bounce back from loss to their rival. Karr QB Aldon Clark has thrown for over 800 yards. Derrick Friloux (352 yards) leads the Fighting Irish ground attack.

District 10-3A

Miller-McCoy (2-4) at Clark (1-5)

Time, place: 2:30 p.m., Pan American

Last week: Miller-McCoy beat KIPP 32-20; Clark lost to Lake Area 18-7

Last year: Miller-McCoy won 50-0

The buzz: District opener for both teams. Lions have bounced back from 0-4 start with back-to-back victories. They have averaged 32.5 points in the two wins after scoring just 26 points total in the first four games. Clark, which has scored more than one touchdown in just one game, relies on its defense.

District 8-2A

Fisher (1-5) at Cohen (0-6)

Time, place: 7 p.m., Pan American

Last week: Fisher lost to Riverside 64-0; Cohen lost to Sophie Wright 59-14

Last year: Fisher won 35-20

The buzz: One team will get its first district victory. Points have been hard to come by for both teams. Cohen, on a 26-game losing streak dating to 2011, has scored just 30 points all season. Fisher has scored just 32 points in the past five weeks, matching the 32 points it scored in its season-opening win against Sci Academy.
