Large Schools

1. Mt.Carmel (15-1) – An 8-0 record last week, including a sweep at the Catholic Tournament.

2. Chapelle (15-2) – Swept in straights by MCA, but still a very solid hold on number two.

3. Ben Franklin (10-2) – Beating McGehee in five sets is no easy feat.

4. Dominican (10-4) – Only team to face and beat E.D. White in the Catholic Tournament.

5. Fontainebleau (10-5) – Seven straight wins make the Bulldogs the class of Tammany.

6. Lakeshore (13-3) – Titans get Mandeville and St. Scholastica before beginning district.

7. St. Scholastica (9-7) – 2-3 in Catholic Tournament, Ursuline awaits on Thursday.

8. Chalmette (8-7) – Two tough losses to John Curtis and Dominican last week.

9. Belle Chasse (9-6) – Losses to Ursuline and Sacred Heart; now Curtis awaits.

10. Cabrini (3-4) – Two matches to get above .500 before district play starts.

Small Schools

1. Country Day (11-4) -- Playing Mt. Carmel and Dominican this week will be real tests.

2. Newman (9-2) – A 3-0 week gets you a bump up in the rankings.

3. John Curtis (11-1) – Only loss is to Chapelle.

4. Ursuline (9-3) – First three losses of the season came at the Catholic Tournament.

5. Riverside (15-5) – Team travels to Assumption today.

6. McGehee (10-2) – Losses to Ben Franklin and East Ascension are no reason to hang heads.

7. Pope John Paul II (12-8) – 3-2 record at Catholic Tourney proves Jags are for real.

8. Sacred Heart (8-7) – 2-3 record in the Catholic Tourney, district begins Oct. 1.

9. Northlake Christian (8-3) – Showdown with PJP for district superiority comes Oct. 3.

10. Lusher (6-5) – Two wins possible this week.
