University Lab freshman running back Mike Hollins churned for three touchdowns in a 34-14 District 6-3A win at Glen Oaks on Friday.

The Class 3A top-ranked Cubs, who outgained Glen Oaks 175-63 yards rushing, scored 34 unanswered points before the Panthers responded in the fourth quarter.

Hollins opened scoring for University on runs of 3, 2 and 5 yards. Senior running back Jordan Davis followed with two touchdown runs from 37 and 6 yards.

Darren Evans and Eddie Harris scored one touchdown apiece for Glen Oaks in the fourth quarter.

With the win, University (7-1, 5-0) extended its win streak to seven while Glen Oaks fell to 1-6, 0-5.

CHRISTIAN LIFE 66, EAST IBERVILLE 0: Running back duo Jarod Davis and Jacob Kibodi combined for six touchdowns as the Crusaders rolled to their third District 6-2A win of the season at home.

CLA (5-3, 3-3) outgained East Iberville 384 to 50 while gaining 14 first downs to EIHS’ three.

Christian Life jumped out to 38-0 lead at half time and added 21 more points in the third quarter and added a single score in the final period.

Kibodi led all scorers with four touchdowns, including two runs of 48 and 43 yards. Davis added TD runs from 6 and 20 yards out, while Brennan Williams caught two passes (63 and 4 yards) for touchdowns.

Louis Briggs and DeMarcus Scott also punched in scores for Christian Life.

The Tigers (0-8, 0-5), were held scoreless for a fifth game this season.

BELAIRE 34, TARA 0: DaQuan Hicks’ four touchdowns powered host Belaire to its first 6-4A win of the season.

Hicks accounted for all three first half scores (4, 24, 45 yards) and added a 5-yard run in the fourth. He also converted two extra points in the contest.

Senior defensive back, Darrel Bell contributed a 45-yard interception return for the Bengals (5-3,1-2). Tara, which accumulated 65 yards in the game, fell to 0-7, 0-3.

WEST FELICIANA 45, BAKER 6: In Baker, West Feliciana held the Buffaloes to 28 yards rushing and a single score in a District 6-3A win.

The Saints moved to 5-3, 4-1.

WHS quarterback Derick Turner led all scores with three touchdowns runs for 28, 4 and 25 yards. Josh Morrison added two touchdowns from 6 and 13 yards, while Treyvonte Cummings added a 12-yard touchdown run.

Devontae Rodgers answered for Baker’s (3-4, 1-4) only touchdown on a 7-yard run.

ASSUMPTION 47, VANDERBILT CATHOLIC 22: Assumption used a punishing ground game to pull away from the Terriers in a District 7-4A showdown.

The Mustangs (7-1, 3-0), rushed for 431 yards in a game was close throughout the first three quarters.

Vandebilt scored first, but Assumption answered with a Daron Williams 1-yard run for the score.

The Terriers answered with another Brennan Rogers touchdown run of 36 yards.

The Mustangs responded with back-to-back touchdown passes from Daron Williams — the first caught by Zyshwan Richard from 4 yards, the second caught by Melvin Young from 5 yards.

Vandebilt Catholic (2-6, 1-2) came out of halftime with a 21-yard David Yancey touchdown run.

The Mustangs piled on three long touchdown runs — a 62-yarder from Ricahrd, a 61-yarder from Williams and a 43-yarder for Richard.
