Picks made Friday for fast track and off turf

Race 1, 2 and 3 are quarterhorse races (no selections)

Race 4

2 Southern Mister: Should be tough to run down on dirt from the inside post

4 Sky Stanza: Likely to get a good, speedy target to try to run down from the back

IF ON TURF: 5-4

Race 5

6: Minit to Stardom: Very professional winner of her first start and is tough in here

8: Shescreative: Had some early success – clearly back to preferred sprinting try

Race 6

2: Seaside Candy: Steps up but gets nice setup here on dirt for Stall

1: Mr. Al’s Gal: Probably happy to be on the brown stuff and not the green stuff

IF ON TURF: 6-5

Race 7

12: Special Blessing: Outside post might be best here to stalk early speed

5: Starlet Guitar: Stall first time starter has been good this meet

6: Cool Spring: Sneaky works and gets top jock here for homebred

Race 8

8: Extra Credit: Finished second over track in a stake going long so fits here nicely

5: Gentlemen’s Agreement: Has a good win over the dirt and coming off a layoff

IF ON TURF: 6-9

Race 9

6: Cajun Creed: Should get a trip here with some speed to run at late

10: Aceguitar: Stalking trip from the outside would be perfect for the style

Race 10

3: Mobile Bay: Won’t face much pace pressure in here today and is all class

7: Underpressure: Should get first run on the big favorite

Race 11

3: Stand Him Up: Huge win in last and should be able to come right back with run

4: Jockamos Song: Loves to win and loves this track — should be tough today

Race 12

4: My Miss Chiff: Not trying to beat this one in this spot against this bunch today

10: Look Into My Eyes: Has a shot to turn the tables on top pick today at a price

Race 13

11: Violent Ways: Showed good speed and interest until a late fade away

6: Mr. Carlos: Also showed some speed and got into some trouble during race

Around the Track

Today is Louisiana Champions Day at the Fair Grounds, where the races are strictly for Louisiana-bred horses. It appears some of the turf stakes races will be transferred to the dirt, so please pay attention to the selections and tread lightly in those races. Millionaire Mobile Bay runs in the Classic and seeks to win this race in back to back years.

Best Bet

Our Best Bet today will be in Race 11 — No. 3 Stand Him Up. Nice winner over this track in last race should win right back.

Good Luck and may they all come home safely.
