The Pelicans continue preseason play Wednesday in Orlando against the Magic (6 p.m., WRNO-99.5 FM). Three storylines to track in the Pels’ sixth preseason outing:

Prime-Time Players

Though the Pelicans still are battling injuries, coach Alvin Gentry said last week he’d like to use the last two games of the preseason to use rotation players more like he will in the regular season. If he sticks to that plan against the Magic, expect to see fewer minutes for players on the fringe of the roster.

Finish Stronger

The Pels led the Rockets by seven heading into the fourth quarter of Monday’s preseason game and lost by 20. Gentry said his team “let everything slip away” and that he’d like to see 48 more consistent minutes.

Home Soon

The Pelicans are scheduled to depart Orlando after the game and return to New Orleans after six days on the road. They’ll host the Miami Heat on Friday in the Pels’ only preseason home game.
