The New Orleans Pelicans announced that All-Star power forward Anthony Davis injured his left ankle in the first quarter of Friday's game against the Utah Jazz in the Smoothie King Center and will not play for the remainder of the game.

Davis suffered the injury 3 minutes and 43 seconds into the game. He had only taken one shot during the game, which he missed.

Davis came into the game leading the team with an average of 21.7 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.9 blocked shots per game.

The Pelicans have a four-game winning streak entering the game.
