Pelicans forward Anthony Davis underwent further evaluations by Pelicans doctors on Tuesday morning and is expected to miss four to six weeks with a broken hand, the team said.
Davis was diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal of his left hand. The injury occurred during Sunday's game at the New York Knicks, and an MRI was to be done when he came back to New Orleans.
Davis leads the league in blocked shots at 3.63 per game. Indiana center Roy Hibbert is second at 3.44.
