The Pelicans return to the Smoothie King Center to face the Utah Jazz at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Here are three things to know:
1. Sweet music
After Tuesday night’s 121-119 overtime win in Dallas, the Jazz are on a seven-game winning streak. That stretch had pushed Utah into the lead for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot.
2. Big difference
In the 32 games this season that neither Derrick Favors nor Rudy Gobert has started, the Jazz are 13-19, allowing 98.1 points per game. When both start, as is expected to be the case Wednesday, Utah is 12-6 and allowing 92.2 points per game.
3. Cole world
Over his past 10 games, Pelicans guard Norris Cole is averaging 13.7 points per game on 43 percent shooting, including 45.8 percent from 3-point range. Cole is averaging 5.7 assists per game over that span.
