The New Orleans Pelicans have the 10th-best record in the Western Conference, 1 1/2 games behind Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns for the eighth and final seed in NBA playoffs.

But one writer believes the Pelicans have just what it takes to leapfrog the Thunder and the Suns into the Western Conference playoffs.

L. Dahlgren, a writer at, has the Pelicans making the NBA playoffs as one of his "20 bold predictions for the second half of the NBA season."

"The Pelicans are just a few games out of the playoff race, and with the NBA's best player right now it will just take a little push to get over the hump," Dahlgren writes.
