Pelicans coach Monty Williams told WDSU-TV that he obviously didn't agree with the team's decision to fire him after leading the team to the playoffs, but he understands that moves like that are a part of the business.

"I'm going to be OK," Williams said. "It's a part of life."

Williams said he is thankful for the opportunity he had to coach the Pelicans and coach and live in New Orleans.

"I'm so in debted," he said. "There is no bitterness in my heart."
