Anthony Davis dodged an injury earlier this week. On Saturday he ran into another.

Davis injured his right foot in warmups and will miss the Pelicans’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night at the Smoothie King Center.

The 6-foot-10 forward leads the Pelicans in points (24.1) and rebounds (10.2) and blocks (2.2) per game. He’s also the team’s best defensive option against Wolves’ rookie Karl-Anthony Towns.

Davis landed awkwardly on his left knee in Thursday’s home win against Oklahoma City but did not leave the game. He said afterward that the knee was “fine.”

The Pelicans will announce an update on Davis’ condition after further medical evaluation.
