Pelicans coach Monty Williams says forward Anthony Davis is day to day with chest injury, will not play against Golden State on Sunday _lowres

New Orleans Pelicans coach Monty Williams said forward Anthony Davis is day to day while he recuperates from a chest injury and will not play in Sunday's game against the Golden State Warriors in the Smoothie King Center. .

Williams said Davis is still sore from the chest injury, which occured after he played 6 minutes and 30 seconds into the first quarter of the Pelicans' 119-114 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.

Williams says he has spoken with team doctors who have advised the team not to try to rush Davis back to the lineup.

Davis averages 24.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and a NBA-leading 2.7 blocks per game.
