1. Anthony Davis

We have been witness to the continued development of the player Charles Barkley says will be the best in the game when LeBron James passes the torch. This is his first trip to the playoffs, so he will be motivated to elevate his game along with those of his teammates. Don’t discount AD’s ability to do so.

2. The Splash Brothers

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are the most dynamic duo in the game, and once they get hot from long range, the Warriors are just about unbeatable. The Pels may have to use Jrue Holiday off the bench to get a body on Curry, but there’s no beating Golden State without at least making it hard on him.

3. Spurs hangover

The Pels celebrated Wednesday night as if they’d won the championship and not just the eighth seed. Where was the champagne? Maybe that’s why they left New Orleans on Thursday to get their minds on Golden State. Game 1 against a rested-and-ready juggernaut that never loses at home will be as much of a mental as a physical challenge.
