Drew Brees‘ throwing session on Tuesday showed enough good signs that the Saints quarterback plans to take throwing reps on Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.

Brees, who suffered a bruised rotator cuff against Tampa Bay, was listed as limited in Saints’ practices last week, but he did not throw in a practice setting.

Battling through the injury in an effort to play, Brees threw last Friday, but he felt he didn’t have the velocity to play against Carolina.

Brees then took the weekend off and flew to Birmingham for another consultation with Dr. James Andrews before trying to throw again today.

If Brees begins throwing in practice, his chances of playing against Dallas rise.
