TAMPA — Rookie Saints cornerback Damian Swann, who went down on a tackle in the fourth quarter of New Orleans’ 24-17 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday, was being evaluated for a potential concussion.
If Swann sustained a concussion, it would be the rookie’s third this season, a scary number given the frequency.
But the rookie cornerback, who has routinely talked about understanding the dangers of concussions and balancing that against his career, has already tweeted he plans to return.
No official word has been given on Swann’s injury by the team yet. If he suffered a concussion, Swann might be placed on injured reserve. Swann missed four weeks after sustaining his second concussion against the Giants.
