Drew Brees has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his record-tying performance against the Giants, the NFL announced Wednesday morning.

Brees completed 39-of-50 passes for 505 yards and seven touchdowns, a mark that tied the NFL record for touchdown passes in a game.

Brees tied Peyton Manning, Sid Luckman, George Blanda, Joe Kapp, Adrian Burk and Y.A. Tittle for the mark.

For Brees, it’s his 22nd Offensive Player of the Week award and his 20th in his time with the Saints, the most for any NFL player since 2006.

Brees, at the halfway point, has completed 69.6 percent of his passes for 2,376 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions so far.
