Source: Rutgers wide receiver Leonte Carroo will visit Saints Thursday _lowres

Rutgers wide receiver Leonte Carroo is visiting the Saints in New Orleans on Thursday, a source confirmed to The Advocate.

Carroo, a big, strong player who measured at 6-feet, 211 pounds at the NFL scouting combine, fits the same sort of profile as South Carolina’s Pharoh Cooper.

Playing in a Rutgers offense that struggled, Carroo caught 122 passes for 2,373 yards and 29 touchdowns in three years with the Scarlet Knights, averaging 19.5 yards per catch.

Carroo ran the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds at the NFL scouting combine, tying for 11th in a receiver class that didn’t post blazing times in Indianapolis.

The Houston Chronicle reported the news first.
