The Saints enjoyed an off day Wednesday, but the break is over. The second phase of training camp begins Thursday morning at and continues through Saturday’s intrasquad scrimmage at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
ON TODAY’S AGENDA: As they did last week, the Saints will practice from 7:50 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. before greeting fans and speaking with the media. Tentatively scheduled to address reporters following practice are wide receiver Marques Colston, left tackle Terron Armstead, center Jonathan Goodwin, defensive end Cameron Jordan and backup quarterback Ryan Griffin. Any number of sources should begin live tweeting the players’ remarks shortly after the end of practice.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: In the audition to be quarterback Drew Brees’ understudy, neither Griffin nor Luke McCown were able to separate himself from the other during their turns running the second-string offense. The opportunity to do that will increase as the scrimmage nears, not to mention the regular-season opener at St. Louis on Aug. 7.
