WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. — The Saints once again avoided a major hit.
Akiem Hicks is the latest to enter the list. The defensive end left Wednesday’s practice with an undisclosed injury and then exited to the locker room under his own power. A source said on Thursday that the injury is nothing to worry about.
The nature of the injury has not been disclosed.
The Saints have several other players nursing injuries. Many of the situations do not appear to be serious. Cornerback Brandon Browner, safety Kenny Vaccaro, and cornerback Keenan Lewis are out of action, but all three have been spotted on the sidelines in recent days.
Cornerback Delvin Breaux, who was injured during Thursday’s game but did not fully participate in Thursday’s practice.
The only situations that bear monitoring to key contributors are with running back C.J. Spiller and safety Jairus Byrd. Spiller recently underwent a procedure on his knee. Byrd has been sidelined throughout camp with an undisclosed injury.
