The New Orleans Saints await the results of a second opinion on Drew Brees‘ injured right foot before making any decisions on his status for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville.

Brees, who reportedly tore the plantar fascia in his right foot, sent the MRI results to Dr. Robert Anderson, a Charlotte foot-and-ankle specialist who is also handling Peyton Manning‘s injury.

Until Anderson makes a determination, Saints coach Sean Payton wasn’t able to fully answer questions about the status of his starting quarterback.

“Well, we’re kind of taking it day by day,” Payton said. “I know he’s had it looked at, he’s had an MRI. I think each day will gather more information and have a better idea of where he’s going to be as it pertains to playing in this game or not.”
