New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and rookie receiver Kenny Stills are each up for offensive player awards this week.

Brees — 26-of-34 for 332 yards and five touchdowns in the 6-1 Saints’ 35-17 win at home over Buffalo (3-5) on Sunday — is up against Cincinnati’s Andy Dalton and Detroit’s Matthew Stafford for FedEx Air Player of the Week.

Stills, who caught two of Brees’ scoring throws and had three receptions for a career-high 129 yards against the Bills, is a candidate to become the Pepsi Next NFL Rookie of the Week. He’ll have to beat out Andre Ellington of Arizona, Eddie Lacy of Green Bay, Cordarrelle Patterson of Minnesota and Sio Moore of Oakland.

Few have more picks than Lewis

Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis is tied for eighth in the NFL with three interceptions. Seven players are tied for first place with four, and Lewis is among 15 players with three.

He nabbed his career-high third pick in the fourth quarter against the Bills. He also picked off passes in the Week 3 win against Arizona and the Week 6 loss to New England.

Lewis on Sunday credited his team’s defensive front for pressuring quarterbacks into errant passes he’s been able to exploit.

“We got one of the best fronts in the league, so we know we’re going to get our share of missed overthrows and underthrows,” Lewis said. “We know that every week ... those guys get to almost every quarterback. When you got a (defensive) line playing that well, on the back end, you can make plays.”

Deuce to be inducted

Former Saints running back Deuce McAllister will be inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, it was announced Monday.

McAllister, who was a member of the Saints from 2001 to 2009, is the team’s all-time leading rusher with 6,096 yards and 49 touchdowns on the ground. A native of Ludlow, Miss., he played his college ball at Ole Miss, setting records for, among other things, carries (616), yards (3,060), rushing TDs (36) and total TDs (41).
