Backup Saints running back Khiry Robinson will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a fracture to his tibia on Sunday, Sean Payton said.
Robinson underwent surgery on Sunday night.
“He’s got a tibia fracture down in the lower part of his leg,” Payton said. “They were able to repair that, and he’s recovering right now.”
Immediately after Robinson’s injury, the team crowded around the running back, circling around him to pray before he was carted off the field.
“When an injury like that occurs and the players see that, the first thought is the amount of work a guy like Khiry’s put in,” Payton said. “And all of a sudden, knowing his season’s come to an end.”
