QUICK GLANCE

For sure, the Panthers (3-4-1) have seen better times. The defending NFC South champions are winless in their past three games, tying once and losing two straight, the second of which was at home to Seattle (4-3) on Sunday. The Panthers were leading the Seahawks 9-6 late after three field goals by kicker Graham Gano, but then they surrendered a 23-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Russell Wilson to tight end Luke Willson with 47 seconds left and failed to answer the score. It’s a stark turnaround from the last time the Saints were in Carolina, in a Week 16 defeat last year, when the Panthers had won nine of their previous 10.
