Saints center Jonathan Goodwin, linebacker David Hawthorne, running back Mark Ingram, fullback Erik Lorig and safety Marcus Ball did not practice Wednesday, the first day of preparations for the 0-2 team's home game against Minnesota (1-1) on Sunday. Linebacker Curtis Lofton (shoulder) was limited.
Goodwin, Ingram, Hawthorne, Lorig and Ball missed team drills with elbow, hand, ankle, ankle and hamstring injuries, respectively. Goodwin's hurt elbow, Ingram's fractured hand and Hawthorne's hurt ankle were new to the injury report. Lorig and Ball have missed both regular-season games so far with their injuries. Lofton played Sunday in Cleveland but had a shoulder issue last week as well.
For the Vikings on Wednesday, defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (shoulder), linebacker Chad Greenway (hand/rib) and tackle Phil Loadholt (ankle) did not practice. Cornerback Xavier Rhodes (groin), tight end Kyle Rudolph (abdomen), wide receiver Rodney Strong (hamstring) and linebacker Brandon Watts (knee) were limited. Linebacker Michael Mauti, the son of former Saints wide receiver Rich Mauti, practiced fully with an injured foot.
