The Saints are once again exploring the kicker market.
The team tried out kicker Josh Scobee last week, according to a source, but it does not appear a deal is imminent.
Scobee was part of the group of workouts that also included linebacker Erik Harris, running back Vick Ballard and wide receiver Kyle Prater.
The other three players were signed by the team.
Scobee spent the first 11 years of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars and part of last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was released after missing four kicks from 40 yards or longer.
New Orleans has been in search of a long-term option at kicker for quite some time.
Last season the team went into training camp with Zach Hocker and Dustin Hopkins competing for the job. Hocker ultimately won out but was later cut in favor of Kai Forbath.
Forbath finished the season with the team but finished the year 9-of-13, with three of his misses coming from 40 yards or longer.
Forbath is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.
