New Orleans outside linebacker Junior Galette has suffered a pectoral injury, Saints coach Sean Payton said after the third open organized team activity on Wednesday.

Galette’s injury was first reported by Fox Sports last week.

Now, Galette is waiting for a final opinion to determine Galette’s treatment.

“Right now, he’s working through, and he’s waiting on and we’re waiting on final opinion,” Payton said. “He’s got a pec injury, and we’re just wanting to make sure we’ve got the right opinions and the right direction to go.”

Evaluating the Saints’ new options on the outside isn’t easy during organized team activities, when players aren’t wearing pads, but Payton did say New Orleans has more options after adding Hau’oli Kikaha, Davis Tull and Anthony Spencer in the offseason.

“Obviously, coming after the draft, you see more numbers there,” Payton said.
