The New Orleans Saints’ plane, delayed overnight after the team’s crushing loss to the Seahawks, finally left Seattle at 9 a.m. Pacific time, or 11 a.m. New Orleans time, officials said Tuesday morning. The flight is expected to arrive at Louis Armstrong International Airport at around 3 p.m. local time.
Team officials had no details about how the delay would affect preparations for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Likewise, they did not say when coaching staff would meet with the media to discuss the upcoming game.
A source told The Advocate that the issue that grounded the Saints’ flight late Monday was a cracked windshield.
The Saints and the Panthers each have 9-3 records and are tied for the lead of the NFC’s South Division. The teams play each other twice during the final four games of the regular season, with the first of those meetings in New Orleans this Sunday.
