Five Saints players did not practice in the team’s first full workout of the week on Wednesday as they began preparing for Sunday’s game with the New York Jets.
Wide receiver Marques Colston (knee), guard Jahri Evans (hip), free safety Malcolm Jenkins (knee), safety Kenny Vaccaro (concussion) and defensive end Tyrunn Walker (knee) did not participate in the practice.
Jenkins missed the second half of Sunday’s game with the Buffalo Bills with what teams officials said was a leg injury, while Vaccaro was injured late in the fourth quarter when he collided with cornerback Keenan Lewis as they attempted to break up a pass.
Colston and Evans apparently made it through the game with their injuries, while Walker was inactive for the third game in a row.
Strong safety Roman Harper (knee), tight end Jimmy Graham (foot), linebacker David Hawthorne (ankle), wide receiver Kenny Stills (knee) and cornerback Rod Sweeting (hip) were limited.
Lewis (foot/knee), defensive end Akiem Hicks (knee) and defensive end Cameron Jordan (ankle) had full participation.
Harper practiced for the first time since he last played in a Week 2 win at Tampa Bay. Also, running back Mark Ingram, who has missed the past five games with a toe injury, was not listed at all.
