WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. -- Saints quarterback Drew Brees is not in pads for a third straight day of activities Tuesday since straining an oblique muscle.
Saints coach Sean Payton has said Brees is day to day.
Wide receivers Joseph Morgan and Andy Tanner were also kept out of practice for undisclosed reasons. As for Morgan,it's been said he'll be handled extra carefully after a knee injury sidelined him for 2013. Morgan had a sleeve over his left leg.
Meanwhile, Saints wide receiver Kenny Stills is back in full pads and was participating in the morning walkthrough for Day 10 of training camp practice at The Greenbrier resort in West Virginia on Tuesday after being out since July 25 with a tweaked hamstring.
Stills later took off his pads and went to the side to work on a rowing machine and was not participating in individual drills. He was limited.
Veteran cornerback Champ Bailey (undisclosed, last practiced Thursday) was on the stationary bicycle.
Others who are not participating include:
- Left guard Ben Grubbs (undisclosed, last practiced July 27)
- Wide receiver Joseph Morgan (undisclosed, but it's been said he'll be handled extra carefully after missing 2013 with a knee injury)
- Wide receiver Andy Tanner (undisclosed)
- Cornerback Terrence Frederick (hamstring)
- Cornerback Derrius Brooks in shorts (undisclosed)
- Receiver Steve Hull
- Linebacker Victor Butler
- Nose tackle John Jenkins
Fullback Erik Lorig (undisclosed) was not immediately spotted. One player who returned after missing Monday was defensive end Glenn Foster. Another is tackle/guard Jason Weaver (root canal).
On the Saints’ unofficial depth chart, there were some notable position changes. They included defensive lineman Lawrence Virgil being listed at nose tackle, Rufus Johnson Jr. switched from outside linebacker to defensive end, Todd Davis moved from linebacker to inside linebacker, and Khairi Fortt moved from inside to outside linebacker.
