ATLANTA — The New Orleans Saints' rookie sensation left Thursday's game against the Atlanta Falcons on the first series.

Alvin Kamara, who has been a key weapon for the New Orleans offense this season, is being evaluated for a possible concussion.

Kamara was featured heavily on the Saints' first series. He had one carry for two yards and caught three passes for 25 yards in the first eight plays for New Orleans, but he paid a price on the final catch.

Taking a screen from Drew Brees in the flat, Kamara crouched down and took a helmet-to-helmet hit from former LSU star Deion Jones. The play did not appear to be malicious; Jones hit Kamara low, but the rookie crouched to meet him.

Kamara was evaluated in the injury tent before being taken to the locker room.
