The Saints have signed Vonn Bell.

The second-round safety out of Ohio State’s deal will run for four years. The only unsigned member of the rookie class is defensive lineman David Onyemata.

The terms of the deal are not yet known.

New Orleans traded up to select Bell in the third round of the draft. He is projected to play free safety, perhaps serving behind Jairus Byrd. His role could be more prominent in subpackages.

Bell appeared in 42 games over three seasons at Ohio State. He finished his career with 176 tackles, one sack, nine interceptions, 24 passes defensed and two fumble recoveries.

A source said on Monday that the deal first-round pick Sheldon Rankins signed with New Orleans is worth $12.8 million, fully guaranteed.
