Once a consensus top-10 pick, Amari Cooper has been sliding in a lot of recent mock drafts.

The Alabama product has been surpassed by West Virginia's Kevin White in many minds as the top receiving prospect, sending Cooper falling in many mock drafts.

This is the case in WalterFootball, com's latest projection, which sends Cooper to the Saints with the 13th pick.

Would New Orleans make this move?

The Saints have had a stated goal of improving their defense, but there's no question Cooper would be the best available player on the board if this scenario plays out. It would be extremely difficult for New Orleans to pass him up after losing tight end Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills in trades.

The Saints could take him, lock up their future at wide receiver with Cooper and Brandin Cooks, and still use their other eight picks to address the defense. And that's what the Saints do in this projection by taking Missouri edge rusher Markus Golden with the 31st pick.

If this scenario plays out, New Orleans almost has to pounce on Cooper.
