The Saints closed out their draft by drafting Missouri running back Marcus Murphy.

The 5-foot-8, 193-pounder rushed 177 times lat year for 924 yards and caught 17 passes for 504 yards. He also had 17 tick returns for 504 yards.

The pick comes after the Saints lost Travaris Cadet, who served as the backup third-down back, in free agency. New Orleans currently has C.J. Spiller at the top of the depth chart in that role.

Murphy has battled injuries throughout his career and missed all of 2011 after hurting his shoulder. He should be provided the opportunity to compete for a job in the return game, if not immediately at running back.
