Corey White has found a new home.
Released by the Saints on Friday, the defensive back has been claimed off waivers by the Dallas Cowboys.
White’s release created around $1.5 million in cap space for the Saints.
White predominately served as a cornerback during his time in New Orleans, but made the shift to safety late last season. He appeared in 15 games during the 2014 season and finished with 53 tackles and two interceptions.
White earned a Proven Performance Escalator that increased his salary $660,000 to $1.574 for the 2015 season.
It was also announced Friday morning that White earned $192,991.73 through the NFL’s performance-pay bonus system. To determine the payouts, the league uses a formula that weighs players’ pay against their playing time.
