The Saints promoted linebacker Adam Bighill to the 53-man roster on Thursday, filling the last hole left by a flurry of moves made during the bye week.

Bighill, who played on special teams in the season opener, has been on the practice squad since the loss to the Vikings.

Brought up because of an injury to Nate Stupar before the opener, Bighill played 14 snaps in the kicking game against the Vikings but did not play on defense. The former CFL star led the Saints with 20 tackles in the preseason and added both a sack and an interception.

New Orleans also brought back linebacker Gabe Martin as a member of the practice squad.

Martin was initially signed to the active roster, but the Saints cut him on Wednesday to make room for Hodges.
