Drew Brees set the NFL's all-time single-season passing record Monday in a 45-16 win over the Atlanta Falcons, breaking Dan Marino's 27-year-old NFL record.

Brees' 9-yard touchdown pass to Darren Sproles gave him 307 yards for the game and passing the record of 5,084 yards for a season set by Marino as Brees went to 5,086 yards.

New Orleans (12-3) also clinched the outright NFC South title.
