Former Saints linebacker Victor Butler signed with Arizona on Tuesday, and another ex-New Orleans player at the position — Kevin Reddick — was cut from St. Louis’ practice squad.
Butler signed with the Saints in 2013 but didn’t play a single snap for the team. He missed 2013 with a preseason knee injury then hurt his ankle and was sidelined for much of training camp in 2014. The team released him in August.
Before his time in New Orleans, Butler racked up totals of 64 tackles, 11 sacks, five pass break-ups, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery with the Dallas Cowboys, who chose him out of Oregon State in the fourth round of the 2009 draft.
Meanwhile, Reddick signed with the Saints as an undrafted rookie in 2013 and subsequently led New Orleans’ special teams with 11 regular-season tackles (nine solo) and one forced fumble. He was passed up by others in training camp as a sophomore pro, however; and he was waived in August.
No one claimed him. He later signed with St. Louis’ practice squad but was ultimately released from his spot there.
