1 Bad sign?
It could be a bad sign that QB Ryan Griffin didn’t get on the field until there were less than 50 seconds remaining on the clock. There were only so many pieces of the pie to split up Sunday, and the coaching staff decided to serve Griffin the crumbles. One of the quarterbacks is going to go. Heading into the fourth game, he appears to be the odd-man out.
2 coleman issues
Brandon Coleman had a nice catch over the middle for 27 yards, but his performance took a hit because a dropped pass earlier in the game. Part of the blame for that missed connection should be placed on QB Luke McCown, who delivered the ball late and allowed the defensive back to get in position to make a play. Still a bad play for Coleman, but not as bad.
3 Snead up
Willie Snead needed a big game to make his case for a roster spot. He responded by catching four passes for 56 yards. It’s still hard to figure out where he fits. The fact that he’s not on any of the first-team special teams units could also be an issue. He might find a way in, but the fight isn’t over.
