The Saints made several roster moves Saturday: The team signed defensive end Jason Jones, tight end Braedon Bowman and defensive lineman John Hughes.

Jones, a nine-year veteran of the Titans, Seahawks, Lions and Dolphins, had 3.5 sacks last season in Miami. Hughes, a massive 320-pound nose tackle, is a six-year veteran of the Browns and Buccaneers.

"Periodically, we'll bring in a large group of players to work out, and we're early enough in camp to see these guys," coach Sean Payton said. "They've done some good things on film (and) we've got good grades on them, so we wanted to look at them."

The Saints also signed former Tulane receiver Xavier Rush and cornerback Malik Foreman.

To make room for the new players, defensive back Robenson Therezie, kicker Patrick Murray, receiver Rashad Lawrence and cornerback Dejaun Butler were let go. The team also waived defensive lineman Devaroe Lawrence with an injury designation.
