Patrick Robinson will begin his free-agent tour next week, beginning with a visit to Pittsburgh, but will keep his options open with the Saints, according to a source.
Robinson, a former first-round pick, had a bumpy 2013 season with New Orleans. He started out as the No. 2 cornerback, but was demoted from that role later in the season and admittedly battled confidence issues.
He eventually found a home covering the slot and excelled in that position. Robinson held opposing quarterbacks to a 57.5 rating, according to Pro Football Focus. His mark was the fifth best among cornerbacks who logged 25 percent or more snaps serving in that role last season.
If the Saints are still interested in keeping their options open with Robinson, it would likely be with an eye toward him filling that role. New Orleans recently signed Brandon Browner to serve as the No. 2 cornerback opposite Keenan Lewis.
New Orleans recently parted with fellow cornerback Corey White, who was released on Friday.
