WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. — Davis Tull, the fifth-round pick from Chattanooga who’s been forced to sit out all of training camp so far as he rehabs from March shoulder surgery, might be on the practice field soon.

New Orleans plans to evaluate Tull on Sunday afternoon, and the Saints are hopeful he’ll be cleared to practice.

“I think there’s a good chance Tull comes off the PUP here this afternoon and we get some work with him,” Saints coach Sean Payton said. “He’s healthy.”

Tull, a pass rusher at Chattanooga who projects as a strong-side linebacker and edge rusher for the Saints, had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder in March, after the Combine.

He has not participated in any of the Saints’ offseason practices, but Tull has been at every practice, watching from the side and trying to pick up what he can.

“He’s kind of followed the protocol, if you will,” Payton said, “and he’s ready to get some snaps.”

Payton also hinted that New Orleans will announce two or three transactions later today.
