Hoping it boosts the city’s chances of landing the bid to host Super Bowl LII in 2018, the New Orleans Saints are pushing to add a center-hung video board to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
“We are really pursuing (a center-hung video board) for the Superdome,” Saints president Dennis Lauscha told the “Black and Blue Report” in an interview on the team’s official website. “We are working on that right now. We think if we can add a center-hung video board to the Superdome it will really help our Super Bowl bid come 2018. ... (We) definitely have that on the radar screen.”
Lauscha didn’t delve into any more specifics but said that the New Orleans Pelicans are exploring the same possibility for the New Orleans Arena. The Pelicans’ video board wouldn’t be part of changes taking place this season at the arena, but it would be part of a second phase of upgrades later on.
