After finishing 7-9 last year, the New Orleans Saints arrived at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., for training camp last week with plenty to prove and lots of work to do for the upcoming season.

The Saints' season opener at the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 13 is just a month and a half away. Every day and every practice counts in the Saints’ quest to pare down their roster and find the right mix of players.

After one week, here are the top five stories:

--Safety Jairus Byrd has been a no-show in morning practices

--Rookie first-round pick Andrus Peat has struggled

--Rookie quarterback Garrett Grayson, the heir apparent to quarterback Drew Brees, has struggled as well

--Wide receiver Brandon Coleman has stood out

--Former placekicker Morten Andersen rewarded with membership in the Saints' Ring of Honor
