Saints safeties Vonn Bell and Kenny Vaccaro were both fined $9,115 apiece for penalties in Thursday's loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Bell was fined for a late hit on Cam Newton. Newton was scrambling for a first down on the Panthers' first touchdown drive and was knocked out of bounds by Dannell Ellerbe, and Bell hit Newton after he crossed over the line.

Five plays later, Jonathan Stewart scored a 1-yard touchdown run to put Carolina ahead 10-3.

Vaccaro was fined for a roughing-the-kicker penalty incurred when he dove to block Graham Gano's kick and slid into him on Carolina's opening drive.
