The New Orleans Saints have signed veteran linebacker James Anderson to help a position hit hard by injuries, according to Anderson's Twitter and social media accounts.

Anderson, a 32-year-old who spent the first seven years of his career in Carolina, has made stops in Chicago, Tennessee and Atlanta over the past two seasons.

Now, the veteran linebacker is being brought in to shore up a linebacker spot hit hard by injury. Rookie linebacker Hau'oli Kikaha and veteran linebacker Ramon Humber both missed Sunday's game against Tennessee with injuries that are not serious, according to multiple sources, but there was no timetable given for their return.

Weak-side linebacker Dannell Ellerbe has also missed the last two games with an injury, and David Hawthorne, who returned to the lineup on Sunday, was forced from the game with an injury late.

New Orleans must make a corresponding move to fit Anderson on the roster.
