1. A CASE OF THE MORGANS
As competitive as the battle is for the final spot or two at wide receiver, every little mistake could be the one that sinks someone’s hopes of making the team. Joe Morgan committed two errors. First he fumbled the ball after catching a pass, and he later allowed a Garrett Grayson pass to bounce off his chest into another player’s arms.
2. NEED FOR SNEAD STILL HERE
This statement might look foolish once rosters are trimmed down Saturday, but Willie Snead has performed well enough this summer that it would be a mild surprise if he doesn’t make the 53-man roster. The receiver caught three passes for 31 yards with a touchdown and added a 48-yard kickoff return later in the game.
3. WARREN MAKES A BAD IMPRESSION
Safety Pierre Warren had some positive moments Thursday. Unfortunately, the image that will remain from his performance is the bad angle he took to wide receiver Larry Pinkard, allowing a 77-yard gain. Some of the blame goes on cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste. But the angle turned a short gain into a big one.
