Between the lines: Five observations from Monday’s practice _lowres

Five observations from Monday’s practice session:

1 CB Keenan Lewis, an Algiers native, was the star of practice after breaking up consecutive passes. Rob Ryan’s congratulations: “Come on, West Bank!”

2Undrafted rookie S Pierre Warren continued his challenge for a roster spot, picking off a tipped pass and otherwise excelling in drills.

3Vying to start at center, Tim Lelito and Jonathan Goodwin are liberally rotating on and off the first unit in drills. Lelito says Goodwin is mentoring him despite the competition.

4Rookie WR Brandin Cooks displayed his renowned durability, holding on to a pass over the middle despite being decked by CB Roderick Sweeting.

5 The running game excelled in a 9-on-7 drill, but the highlight of the session belonged to LB Curtis Lofton, who sliced through the o-line and wrapped up RB Khiry Robinson for a loss.
